For Piotr, the painting is a field for experimentation, in which he is very consistent, or perhaps (in)consistent, because he does it in many surprising ways. Following his Dadaist imagination, he transcends traditional rules of image creation, while manifesting constant attachment to the source: painting, from which he began his artistic path. His images are direct, materially sensual and open in duration, like existing world images. Processuality is their content. Rust-colored images, saw-cut images, pedestrian images, traveler images, wooden postal images, water images – one could even say they are ecological, because all of them have a negligible carbon footprint, unlike electronic images which have a significant carbon footprint – like any electronic product.

After many years spent creating television images, their selection, editing and post-production, since 2004 I have been entering into a dialogue with Piotr’s artistic paintings, as a result of which our joint series Megabytes of Painting, Blueberry Fresco and Frosty Images were created. The latter, created by the touch of nature, became an inspiration for me to investigate their mathematical, generative nature and the relationship between the inorganic and organic world.

Joanna Janiak has been producing television programs presenting contemporary art for several years. She is interested in various ways of imaging, examining the relationship between traditional and electronic images and their reception.

Piotr C. Kowalski – a painter with extensive artistic achievements, who has been experimenting for years, giving up the artist’s personal gesture, allowing OTHERS to co-create his paintings.

The exhibition will present a wide spectrum of their creative achievements.
