Kamil Stańczak graduated from the Faulty of Arts of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, where he now works. The installation entitled Betony / Bunkers was inspired by military architecture from the period of the Second World Word. Einmannbunker, that is one-man bunker, which served as anti-aircraft protection, has a very futuristic shape and it is hard to treat it as a relict of the past. Today their unusual form brings various associations to mind and it gets harder to guess what is their purpose. Moving them into a gallery the artists explores these uncertainties. Stańczak places his objects on the boundary between illusion and reality, questioning the reality of the whole exhibition space, he places it in a void between realistically reconstructed texture of the original material and the lightness of the one he used.
