The title draws attention to the essence of the collage, which arises due to non-obvious combinations of images, materials, signs, texts or objects. It is mixing styles and conventions, appropriation, manipulating quotes, remixes, creating artistic hybrids.

At the exhibition we present a wide spectrum of this artistic technique: analogue or digital cut-outs, minimalistic compositions, extensive landscapes, traumatic cities, comics, hybrid portraits suspended in a surreal reality, monumental realizations using ubiquitous advertising leaflets, film animations and site-specific realizations.

History, religion, politics, social relations involved in the world of digital media, corporality, consumerism, population migration, social inequalities, existential, autobiographical, psychological and literary themes, social, cultural and mental transformations – these are the topics that collages hide. They are sometimes poetic and metaphorical. They are sarcastic, ironic, ambiguous, surprising, provocative and surreal. In the world of quick images, news, changes and getting lost in the mass media, they seem perversely true and realistic.
